Nightcrawler worms are not a favorite of any of my fish including the catfish. Red wigglers are loved as well as shrimp and both types of HBH Super Soft pellets

Hello, i go fishing once in a while to south padre island and we go wade fishing there. We were using live shrimp and it worked but just for about 5 trout in like 3 hours :/
And i wanted to ask what kind of bait we should use for these trout to catch more. And also any tips on wade fishing trout at South Padre island?
The ones that look like worms, minnows etc.

I cant seem to get any worms and the artificial stuff isn’t working too well, any suggestions for alternative bait?
The better question is what couldn’t you use as bait for blue gill? They will take just about anything: bread, hotdogs, crickets, grasshoppers, corn, etc. Any of those will work nearly as well as plain ol’ worms. Good luck fishin’!

I am talking about using garden snails for fish bait what kind of fish will eat them?

fish eat what will wash into the water when it rains and usually its only bugs and worms and somtimes mice. snails and slugs dont wash in so fish wont eat them because they dont know what they are i recomend worms they work the best for most fish.

I’m going fishing with a friend on a dock this weekend. What is some good bait around the house that I can use? I rarely go fishing and she wanted to go so I was like okay yea lets do it this weekend. Like I said, I don’t go fishing very often so I’m not about to go to the store and buy loads of good bait so what are some good ones I can find around the house?
Your best bet is worms. Look around the damp spots in your area, especially under a pile of leaves, pieces of wood or even any cardboard that have lain on the ground for a while. Collect a few worms and you will be in business.

There are various effective non-live baits (which don’t even look like dead things), like Gulp, PowerBait, and even plain old cream cheese.

used to live on coon island as a child in swansea and now as an adult even though the houses are gone would love to give my children the beautiful channel fishing experience, whats biting and whats the best bait?
