Clips of Our Fishing Trip Yesterday on January 23rd, 2012 at the Red River. The Bar Pit we were fishing in comes off of the Red River and has many Catfish, Brim, Bass, Gar, and Turtles…unfortunatly, lol. We used all worms for bait except for my brother who had a Spinner Bait and almost caught a couple bass which got off right before the bank, ha! All together we caught 14 total fish, mostly all small baby Catfish. We ended up throwing all back seeing as it wasn’t enough for a fish fry or anything. Mostly would have been an appetizer, lol. Good morning. Here’s your Outer Banks Beach, Surf, & Fishing report for Thursday, January 19, 2012. This video was shot just south of the Kitty Hawk Pier at 9:00 AM. It’s a pretty day. Bright sun and blue skies, but the temps have dipped down to the 40′s and a northeast wind is adding some wind chill. The good news is the temps will warm up for the weekend. We may see a little rain, but will be back to the 60′s for the weekend. No surf to report this morning. Decent waist to chest swell, but the onshore wind isn’t helping. The good news is the wind should switch to the southwest after lunch, so there could be some clean waves this afternoon. Looking ahead, not much surf this weekend. OBX fishing is still relatively slow. Still crossing our fingers for a good striper bite soon. However, we have had good reports of blue fin tuna out of Oregon Inlet all week. Hope to see you soon. Ocracoke Island, Hyde County NC

Ocracoke Island is the southernmost island in Outer Banks of North Carolina. It is only accessible by ferry, plane, or a 2-3 hour drive from Manteo/Nags Head. This quaint fishing village is famous for being the site where Blackbeard’s ship, the Queen Anne’s Revenge, was shipwrecked off it’s shores. It’s lighthouse and Howard’s Pub are also two well-known staples on the island. You can find beautiful sunsets over Silver Lake Harbor or on Ocracoke’s South End beach; you can even drive your off-road vehicle on some of the most pristine and beautiful beaches you’ll ever see. It is truly my favorite island I’ve visited in the states and the beauty here is unparalleled.
