Good morning. Here’s the Outer Banks Beach, Surf, & Fishing Report for Tuesday, October 25, 2011. This video was shot at the Hayman St. beach access in Kill Devil Hills at 8:15 AM. October 25th? Already? Seriously only two months until Christmas?! How did 2011 go so fast? Good news is there is still plenty of gorgeous fall weather to enjoy on the Outer Banks. Another pretty fall day today. Although, it is starting to feel like fall. Temps have dipped down to the mid 60′s and will hover between 65 and 70 degrees for the next five days. We have bright sun and clear skies, but there’s a stiff northeast wind that is adding a fall chill to the air. The water temps are still very warm though; 67 degrees at Avalon Pier this morning…and it’s the end of October! Awesome. Starting to feel like fall isn’t a bad thing. It’s nice to see the change of seasons, and it’s a great time to be at the beach; mild weather, warm water, empty beaches, and great surf and fishing. Unfortunately, there’s not much surf to report today. We do have some decent swell in the area, but the northeast wind isn’t helping. The wind will switch to the southwest tomorrow, but the swell is going to drop to ankle to knee. So the surf will be clean Wednesday and Thursday, but it will be real small. The swell jumps back to head high late in the week, but that north wind comes back as well. Looks like we could be out of luck for surf this week, but fingers crossed the wind changes, and hopefully the waves clean …
