WAYS YOU CAN HELP CONSERVE & PRESERVE THE WILDLIFE & THE NATURAL BEAUTY AROUND YOU * Please properly discard all fishing line and hooks in the proper receptacles that are provided at most beaches, fishing piers and marinas. Improperly discarded fishing lines and hooks can end up wrapped around sea turtles, dolphins, manatees, whales, pelicans, seabirds and other wildlife’s flippers, necks, feet, wings. This can cause severe injuries, infections, amputations or even death. Improperly discarded fishing line and fishing hooks end up in the digestive systems of sea turtles, dolphins, pelicans and other animals that share the different ecosystems around us. * Plastics are so dangerous to wildlife and to our different ecosystems. Many times we see plastics bags, children’s sand toys, balls & frisbees, plastic bottles & plastic caps and trash left behind by beach goers, tourists, fishermen, boaters & visitors to our parks, lakes & oceans. We can’t just walk away and leave them there so we pick them up and throw them away. Seeing a plastic bottle on a beautiful beach or crashing in the surf is NOT natural and is dangerous and can be swallowed by animals such as sea turtles who might mistaken a plastic bag as jelly-fish. * Balloons, strings & twine and plastics rings or weights at the end of the balloons are so dangerous to our wildlife as people release them into the air from beaches, boats and parks.
