The tang goes in the container at around 41 seconds, so you can skip to there. The red and green lines represent the fishing line’s path. It goes through a hole on the container, through and around the lid, and back in the same hole. The line is tied on the end w/ a wrench, which I happen to have lying within reach. I waited on the couch, a few feet away, w/ the end of the line within reach, ready to pull. I also made sure to let the fish get used to the container for a week. I put it in w/o the fishing line w/ the algae and rock. They were eating out of it in no time. On the day I was ready to trap him, it was an hour of waiting before he took the bait.

Quiet and peaceful morning at the beach. Bright sun, blue skies, offshore breeze out of the southwest, and temps in the 60′s. Ocean is absolutely flat. No surf. Fishing is slow. About 2 KM from the most popular surf spot in the Cape guys are fishing for Sharks. IN this video you will see a fisherman haul in a bronze whaler shark. Pretty intense, as in the 10 minutes I was there I personally saw about 5 or 6 sharks get caught within a few hundred meters. The fisherman told me he often catches great whites, but they are strong enough to break the reel. The fisherman dont kill the sharks and just fish for the fun and sport of it. I only had my phone with me, so excuse the quality…..not bad however for a blackberry.

Good morning. Here’s the Outer Banks, Beach, Surf & Fishing Report for Tuesday, January 24, 2012. This video was shot at the Lillian St. beach access in Kitty Hawk at 8:45 AM. Two days in a row of warm temps, fog, and surf. A little rain and fog to start today, but the sun should fight it’s way out. 60 degree temps and surf have carried over from yesterday with a light offshore breeze put of the southwest. Temps will dip to the upper 40′s tomorrow but jump back to 60 to close out the week. We had head high waves in the area yesterday. That swell will fade to waist high through today, the light offshore breeze is cleaning up the waves nicely. The tide is a bit heigh this morning, but late morning should see some fun surf. The wind will switch a bit north this afternoon so there could be a bit of chop later today, but today could be the best surf this week. Hit it. OBX fishing is slow.
