The chumstick is a "terminal tackle" bottom fishing rig. It has a hollow shaft with a weight on the bottom, a float on the top, and a stainless steel wire that suspends the hook up off the bottom in plain view of feeding fish. It disperses chum from holes in the hollow shaft and presents the three main stimuli of sight, smell, and motion, that trigger the natural feeding instincts of the fish, improving your chances of catching more and bigger fish. It moves easily across the bottom sliding in and out of rocky crevices to cover a wider area to locate, attract, and catch more fish. The Chumstick works with live, dead, and artificial baits.

Good morning. Here’s your OBX Moment of Zen for Wednesday, February 22, 2012. This video was shot at the Kitty Hawk Pier at 8:30 AM. Perfect winter weather. Warm sun, bright blue skies, light offshore wind out of the southwest at 5-10 mph, and temps in the 60′s. And this weather will stick with us the next few days. Awesome. Swell has faded considerably from yesterday, but there is still a knee to waist wave in the water, and the offshore breeze is shaping a clean, pretty longboard wave. This wave could stick with us tomorrow too. Outer Banks fishing is slow. Skate and dog fish at Jennette’s Pier and tuna offshore. Hope to see you soon. Have fun!

My First Steelhead

I meetup with Chris (Bugpumper) to buy his centerpin and try our luck for Steelhead on a couple local rivers. The system we fished has a very small number of returning Steelhead, making it very difficult to find them. I caught the First one on my level-wind reel and then 10 cast later I got the other one on the centerpin reel in the same pool. I was so happy to have caught those fish. Roe was used for bait. February 19th

Fishing the 4” Hardbait Shad from Real Fish Bait in a dirty urban creek in Southern California. There’s plenty of bass, as well as plenty of litter. If you look closely, around the 0.15 second to 0.20 second mark, you can see a bass swimming in to investigate my cast in the top left hand corner, to the left of the branch. couple of dynacrafts i have restored to 7.2v and 12v

FEB 20TH.- A Whale of a Day today – and a short spin on Sat. in search of glory – find Neptune

Took off a few days waiting for the Monster NorthEaster to come across and help us out. It was short lived and did little to help us, but it did I think help in maybe a few spots I did not go yet, but over all, it was damn bleak. You ever thought you had been had, happened to me and several others on sat….kind of a long story. I was at gun and knife show sat. and I get two calls from my buddies telling me….omg….omg…omg, you better get down to the lane, KLONDIKE…..tide is low right then. I rush home, grab gear and jack and off we go………….. My buddies find like over 100 coins and two fishermen find many washing up in the surf, all in one spot…odd I think as we all look back on it…all coins are oldish…foreign…..weird stuff. Now the light starts to brighten for us and we find out that one of our older guys is moving and after hunting the lane for over 30 years we (some) think he left us a present of sorts…..just happens to be right in front of the street he lives on. Word spreads fast and Sunday more go and find nothing as has been the norm for several weeks and the same for several who ventured that way today hoping the GREAT NORTHEASTER helped us. Big whale washes up on the bay beach on sat night, get to see it today and the air is kinda strong in odor, if you get my drift. I move west 5 or 6 blocks and put in with jack and hunt for a spell only to find alum crap and really old 40′s dog tag and get to see the shell lady off in the distance. Good <b>…</b>

Me catchin a small bass usin a black one dollar wal mart spinner bait. He got hung on branches underwater twice and i had to put some slack in the line and luckily he got untangled both times. Shot with the GoPro Hero 2 in 420p @ 120fps (I would have had it on a higher resolution but I was filming in 420p before I shot this and forgot to change it back) using the head strap mount.

I recorded some fish I caught in freezing weather in feb 6 and the 14th, In this video i show you the triple threat at it’s best, these lures are great in the water. as you can see they look perfect in the water and will catch you some great fish. i caught a 7 lb bass and around a 2 to 3 lb bass on it. we created this lure late jan. and well i will have alot of fish catching soon to come. i do alot of kayak fishing its a great time. anyway the triple threat are 8 dollars a piece and well it’s pretty much the best investment you will make.
